Supported Hypervisor Versions

The following ESXi version(s) is supported for the Graphiant Edge:

  • VMware ESXi 7.0 or higher

Downloading a Virtual Image

To locate the virtual image on a Graphiant Edge, navigate to the home screen in the Graphiant Portal.

Click 'Service Management'; select 'Service Upgrade'.

This will bring up the "Service Upgrade" screen.

The Latest Service Versions are located at the top.

Click 'View Details' for the desired service version.

Select 'Download Virtual Image'.

Select 'Download .ova'.

Upon download, a confirmation message will appear in the upper right corner.

You are now ready to deploy the virtual Edge.

Deploying an Edge on VMware ESXi

Log into ESXi hypervisor:

Deploying the OVA:

Create the VM.

Deploy a virtual machine from an OVF or OVA file.

Click to select file or drag/drop.

Locate the ova file from download;  enter a name for the edge;  click ‘Next’.

Select storage;  click ‘Next’.

Select appropriate interfaces or VLANs for:

  • WAN

  • LAN

  • Local Management

Click ‘Next’.

Verify the configuration and click ‘Finish’.

The Edge is deployed.

Editing the Settings for an an Edge on VMware ESXi

Click the ‘Edit’ tab at the top.

Select ‘VM Options’;  click ‘VMware Tools’.

De-select the “Synchronize guest time with host” option.  Click Save.

Console to the VM;  Scan QR code to on-board Edge VM.

Access VM using Local Management Server:

  • The edge has an interface allocated for Local Management Server. It has an IP address of 192.168.1.1

  • This Local Management interface does not support a default gateway.  To access the local management interface, you must be on the 192.168.1.0/24 network.

  • A guest VM, or an external host can access the Local Management Server via browser to https://192.168.1.1
