The Gateway in the Graphiant architecture serves as an intelligent onboarding point for external resources and services into the Graphiant domain. It's a core element that functions as an extension of the edge, offering external services to all customers. Interaction with the Gateway is facilitated via the Portal, simplifying configuration and management by abstracting complexity.
The Graphiant Gateway allows you to connect your on-premises Graphiant network to your public cloud workloads, using a private connection. It is the preferred way to connect your Graphiant on-premises, cloud and multi-cloud environments together to create a hybrid network. The Graphiant solution also supports the legacy SD-WAN cloud connectivity model, of deploying cloud edges for cloud connectivity in major cloud providers environments. Since the Gateway provides a more secure, reliable, performant and cost effective approach for cloud and multi-cloud connectivity it is recommended over using the legacy SD-WAN cloud connectivity model.
Watch: Create a Gateway Service
This two-minute demo walks through requesting an Azure gateway service in the Graphiant Portal and how Graphiant provisions it:
Open Gateway Services and select Create Gateway.
Pick a region, then choose your cloud: AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI or a site-to-site VPN.
Select the LAN segment and speed, and paste the service key from your Azure ExpressRoute circuit.
Review the pre-flight checks on Preview & Publish and create the service. It appears as Requested.
Behind the scenes, Graphiant provisions the gateway with Automation Workflows (dry run, approval, deploy) until BGP is established and your Azure routes arrive.
Gateway Service Availability
The Gateway service is available in the following Graphiant regions:
Region | Location |
|---|---|
us-west-1 | Seattle |
us-west-2 | San Jose |
us-central-1 | Chicago |
us-central-2 | Dallas |
us-east-1 | N.Virginia |
us-east-2 | Atlanta |
eu-west-1 | London |
eu-central-1 | Frankfurt |
ap-east-1 | Tokyo |
